The Chief Executive Officer of Isaac Books and Stationery, Mr. Isaac Owusu, has donated forty (40) brand-new Lenovo laptops to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. The donation was made in line with the SONSOL Project, an initiative by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson, aimed at providing support to brilliant but needy students to aid their academic pursuits. The presentation ceremony was held at the Council Chamber on Tuesday, 4th April 2023.
Presenting the laptops, Mr. Isaac Owusu expressed his enthusiasm and commitment to providing essential support to brilliant but needy students. He stated that it was an honour for him to be able to support the academic pursuits of needy students. He added that the SONSOL Project is an excellent initiative for providing equal opportunities for all students to excel academically, and he will always be willing to support the University whenever the need arises. He also called on all entrepreneurs, stakeholders, and well-wishers to support this good cause to help transform the lives of needy students.
The Vice-Chancellor, in her response, expressed gratitude to Mr. Isaac Owusu for his remarkable gesture. She noted that this support will go a long way towards making a positive impact on the lives of needy students and contributing to their academic success. She acknowledged that KNUST is proud to have such people who think about the Institution and the students. She added that this act of kindness and generosity is indeed commendable, and it should serve as an inspiration to all individuals and businesses to support the SONSOL Project.
